We are excited to announce the continuation of the Farmer's Market in Shawano this summer. It will be held every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. beginning June 27th, on the northeast corner of Green Bay and Main Streets. The Farmer's Market Subcommittee provides a mechanism to operate the market.

We are in need of financial help. We need to solicit vendors and promote the market throughout the summer. This first year will be especially important, as it will set the groundwork for the years to follow.

Everyone loves a farmer's market, if not to attend, then to enjoy the products. Fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, honey, maple syrup, hand grown and hand-made items, the list goes on and on. Markets provide our farmers with alternative marketing opportunities, as well as encourage agricultural entrepreneurship in the region. Markets also attract folks from near and far, who often spend time and money at local businesses. The benefits to the community are clear.

We are soliciting donations in whatever amount you can afford. We will provide documentation of your donation for tax purposes. We will also recognize your donation on our website (www.shawanofarmersmarket.com) and with a published recognition. Please keep in mind that time is of the essence and in order to utilize your money to the best advantage, we are asking you to respond today, or at latest by May 30th.
